Declare medical conditions

It is important that you declare any pre-existing medical conditions when you purchase your travel insurance to ensure that you have the right level of cover for your trip.

If you have a medical condition that you need to cover when you go away call us on 0845 092 0606

1. Minor injuries or illness

For minor injuries or illness you should pay the hospital, clinic or doctor for any routine or simple outpatient treatment and claim back relevant expenses upon your return to the UK. You will need to submit original receipts for all expenses.

2. Hospital Stays

If you go into hospital or need to return home urgently you must contact the 24 hour emergency assistance service immediately on +44 1252 740 360

3. Emergency dental treatment

If you require emergency dental treatment abroad obtain written confirmation from the dentist confirming the nature of the problem and detailing the treatment provided

4. Use your EHIC card

If you require medical treatment in a European country seek out state-provided medical care and present your EHIC before treatment, or as soon as possible. If you use your EHIC card and your medical costs are reduced then you may not have to pay the policy excess.
